Working with a community network installation that has their own fibre, I wanted to help get connectivity to some people who are beyond the reach of the current fibre rollout.

I decided to grab some #Ericsson #RBS equipment that was gathering dust at the TIC-AC offices and at the same time, install another site that would make use of tic's #900Mhz band concession for social use.

In order to temporarily install the #LTE unit; while a new hilltop tower is in the works, some members of the radio station committee kindly converted a disused toilet room adjacent to the studio into an Ericsson cabinet :-) with some makeshift but sturdy shelves made from fresh pine, which is getting warmed slightly by the equipment, and it smells great!

There's a QR code on a poster on the door of #PanConMadre. Seems to be advertising a multi-lingual get together; QR code has this url: https://qr.me-qr.com/gb0ucGae

Now, that seems to be some kind of MITM advertising serving service, (successfully blocked by browser), but I can click a "Skip ad" button and get redirected to this URL: https://www.instagram.com/luditalk/ in which there is a thumbnail that appears to mention a language exchange event in #Oaxaca. Clicking that leads me to this screenshot. 😕

I really do like these generated videos about the transition from car centred hell to human centred bliss.

These are some #earrings made from pine-needles by the cooperative "Anhelas" in #Oaxaca, that are looking to be able to finance themselves the autonomous #4G radio tower that we installed in their community.

Here's one of our experimental #Ericsson #4G #DUL and #RUS combination with TX-PRO sector antenna in #Oaxaca (I didn't "tidy" the wiring - it wasn't me!!)

The women's cooperative wants to purchase the unit themselves, given that the local authority is apparently against it. Me, I'm torn as always. The phones will be leaking data to the likes of meta and 💩gle but the people need to be in touch! Anyway it's up to them, let's see what happens!
